In September 2022, Labour controlled Bassetlaw District Councils Local Plan was presented to the Planning Inspectorate for the independent examination stage of the process.
In January the Planning Inspectorate held the public consultation stage on Bassetlaw District Council's Local Plan.
This plan includes a proposal to build 12,551 houses across the Bassetlaw district and includes planned substantial development at the Peaks Hill Farm site north of Worksop and to the south of Ordsall. Residents across the district have written to me raising concern that these developments are not proportionate, not required, and will impact local services including schools, our roads, and our NHS. I myself have raised in Parliament concerns at the number of houses across the Bassetlaw District.
With the Local Plan continuing its examination process, I am asking for your views on the planned 12,551 houses being built across the Bassetlaw District.
