In May, I have: 

Welcomed the Government’s announcement to introduce measures to empower people to choose where they receive their NHS care under new plans to help cut waiting lists, one of the Prime Minister’s top five priorities. 

Urged colleges across Bassetlaw to bid for new funding from the Conservative Government to boost skills training.  

Welcomed the news that Bassetlaw will benefit from the new plan to recover primary care services. The NHS and the government have published a new blueprint set out by the Health Secretary in the House to help recover primary care services. 

Attended Alzheimer’s Society Parliamentary reception in support of Dementia Action Week (May 15-21).  

 

FUNDING AND INVESTMENT  

Welcomed Pension Credit which has increased weekly income to a guaranteed minimum level of £201.05 a week for single pensioners or £306.85 for couples  

UK economy boosted by £1.4 billion as longer lorries roll out on roads.  

 £450 million from the Conservative Government to improve school buildings in Bassetlaw  

 Welcomed £1,210,428 of Conservative Government funding to extend the £2 bus fare cap across the Nottinghamshire County Council area.  

£1,171,272 of Conservative Government funding for the East of England to help key companies cut emissions.  

UK economy boosted by £1.4 billion as longer lorries roll out on roads. 

 

MEDIA APPEARANCES AND DEBATES  

Retained EU Law Bill (REUL). Brexit is a process and something which is continually evolving. Part of this evolution will involve getting rid of many unnecessary laws we disagree with, and now we have taken back control, we are able to do this.
