Anti-Social Behaviour: Worksop

Brendan

Very disappointed to see that parts of Worksop have been rated worse than St Ann’s in Nottingham for anti-social behaviour. This needs to be dealt with robustly and it is also important to be clear that if you misbehave and live in a council property then you will be evicted. There also needs to be more attention paid to where people are housed.

Bassetlaw District Council has introduced Public Space Protection Orders for the town centre and £100 fines from council officers for swearing, large groups, drug use and alcohol consumption. We will see if this has any effect. I would like this to target the real trouble causers and not just easy targets, like pensioners feeding pigeons.

On the positive side, it was was nice to see Clarborough, Beckingham and Misterton as the 4th best in Nottinghamshire.
